Short Bio

Ken Power is a Software Engineer with Cisco’s Voice Technology Group, working on development of Unified Communications products, including voice, video and messaging applications. In addition to product development, Ken is part of the team helping Cisco to adopt Agile processes across the global organization.

Keeping a foot in industry and academia, and attempting to establish a feedback loop between both, he is pursuing a PhD part-time with National University of Ireland, Galway. His PhD research is focused on applying Stakeholder Concepts within software product development organizations.

His technical and research interests include all aspects of software product development, including product architecture, agile processes, lean development, design patterns, test driven development, systems design, domain modeling, planning & estimation techniques, team productivity, and stakeholder concepts.

Ken has held a variety of roles in the past including engineer, architect, project manager, development manager, team lead, university lecturer, trainer, consultant, principal engineer and agile coach. He has wide experience introducing and applying agile development in organizations across a variety of industries including network management, financial services, travel technology, and communications.
