Launchpad's quest for a better and agile user interface

room: Munkholmen (capacity 35) — time: Wednesday 15:30-17:00
Level: Practicing

This paper is about the process that the Launchpad team went through to improve the usability if a large application, while still having the ability to respond quickly to change and provide adequate support for quick iterations and delivery to users.

Process/Mechanics

I would like to present this paper as a story, going through the different stages capturing what we learned in each one and how we decided on the next step. The talk would be backed up by slides with extra information and examples. I’d expect there to be a few questions, the full duration being 60 minutes with Q&A but the next option after 30 minutes is 90, and that seems like too much, so I’ll probably skip the Q&A.

Learning outcomes
  • A different way of keeping the user interface consistent
  • Empower developers to learn and apply user interface patterns
  • Make complex user interface with a fully distributed team
